The Yoga of Bliss: Yuthok Nyingthig Karmamudra

with Dr. Nida Chenagtsang & Robert A.F. Thurman | December 6 - 10th, 2023

Karmamudra refers to the ancient Buddhist practice of partnered sexual yoga, whether in pure visualization form or with a physical partner. Also known as ‘The Path of Skillful Means’ or ‘The Path of Great Bliss’, karmamudra uses powerful meditation techniques to transform the raw energy of ordinary sexual pleasure, worldly desire, and orgasmic bliss into vehicles for spiritual transformation and liberation.
Karmamudra yoga is used by highly advanced creation and perfection stage unexcelled tantra yogis and yoginis or Great Perfection yogis and yoginis, but its insights and skills can also be used to enhance marriages and relationships in positive ways. Since Dr. Nida is both an advanced Great Perfection teacher and a skilled physician for regular folks, he is adept at making these teachings accessible for whatever level.
Dr. Thurman works with the Dr. Nida to contextualize the instructions and meditations on the all-enabling ground of voidness or emptiness within the general path of renunciation, compassion, and wisdom, following the Dalai Lama's style of explanation that can be useful to both Buddhists and members of other religions or secular humanists alike.
Aiming to inform and empower, Dr. Nida offers these rarely taught practices in order to clear away common misconceptions and offer vital context and instructions through which beginner and advanced students of any gender or sexual orientation can learn to engage with typically destructive and distracting emotions in a skillful and healthy way.
This teaching includes an introduction to and empowerment for the Yuthok Nyingthig, the unique cycle of Vajrayana Buddhist practice connected with Tibetan Medicine, characterized by its concise and simple methods designed to bring about both worldly benefits--including improved health and longevity, enhanced healing and diagnostic skills--as well as the ultimate benefit of complete spiritual liberation.
For the advanced practitioner, this empowerment enables practice of advanced yogas, such as clearlight, lucid dreaming, bardo between yogas, etc. For the regular therapist and yogi or yogini householder, it may be received as an auspicious blessing.
Please note, that while traditional teachings and techniques will be introduced and may be practiced using visualization, no physical sexual practices will take place during this retreat. Dr. Nida's book, Karmamudra: The Yoga of Bliss (Sky Press) is excellent source material to prepare for the retreat, though it is not required.

Open to all levels of Vajrayana Buddhist practitioners.

This hybrid retreat is being offered online here as well as in person at Menla Retreat and Dewa Spa in Phoenicia, New York. To join the in-person gathering, please CLICK HERE
